Bruce Wayne was born into a rich family and raised in the crime-ridden city of Gotham. One night, when Bruce was eight years old, he and his parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne, went into town to watch a swashbuckling action movie. After the movie, the family cut through an alley to reach their car. Then, a mugger appeared from the shadows demanding Martha's pearl necklace at gun point. In the height of fear, the mugger shot and killed both Thomas and Martha, leaving Bruce orphaned.
Ever since that incident, Bruce vowed revenge against all crime in Gotham. As he trained his mind and body, he believed the only way to stop crime was to make criminals afraid, so he took on an identity that would make all criminals tremble in fear, the identity of Batman!
