Superman

Faster than a speeding bullet and more powerful than a locomotive, it's Superman!

Superman Immortal in the Comics, DC Comics Confirms

Superman was born on an alien planet named Krypton. When he was a baby, Superman was placed into spaceship by his parents after discovering that the planet was going to explode. In an attempt to save him, his parents set his spaceship to land on the planet Earth. When Superman reached Earth, he crashed landed in a small town in Kansas called Smallville. There, he was found by Martha and Johnathan Kent. They adopted baby Superman and named him Clark Kent.

After developing super powers from being exposed to Earth's yellow sun, Clark discovered the truth of his heritage and dedicated his life to use his powers to protect his adoptive home.

SmallvilleThe Superman Chronicles

For fans of Big Blue, I would suggest the following:

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee (book/e-book/audio CD/e-audio)-
This is Superman's favorite book (no joke)! With Superman being an All-American hero since the late 1930s, it only make sense that he would love an All-American book like this one. This story is about a girl named Scout and her life as a child. While Scout tries to reach out to a secluded neighbor, her lawyer father, Atticus, is defending a black man for crime he didn't commit. It's definitely not going to be easy for either Scout or Atticus given the historic times they both live in.

Doc Savage by Kenneth Robeson-
This character is one of the inspirations for Superman! Created back in the early 1930s, Doc Savage was pulp fiction character, an explorer who traveled all over the world. He used his wits and strength to stops whatever wrongdoings he found. He even had a Fortress of Solitude in the Arctic like Superman! With his brawns and brains, Doc Savage is a hero that anyone can find inspirational.

Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson (book/e-book/audio CD)-
SteelheartImagine a world where a Superman-like character was a villain and took over an entire city. That's what happens in this story.
One day, people start developing superpowers and become villains than heroes. They call these beings Epics. They will stop at nothing to get what they want because they can. One day, a boy encounters an incredibly powerful Epic named Steel Heart. Steel Heart killed his father and the boy vowed revenge against him and other Epics. Years after the incident, the boy finds and joins an elite group that attempts to kill all Epics within the city that Steel Heart currently rules. This may just be the opportunity that this boy needs to get back at Steel Heart once and for all.
