In a world where people can get powers through scientific accidents or strange encounters, there are people who are simply born with extraordinary powers. These people are mutants, people born with mutated DNA that allows them to become incredible! Unfortunately, not all humans see mutants as incredible. In fact, they fear them and fear quickly evolves into hatred. Social and political tensions escalate between humans and mutants. Humans fear that mutants will oppress them with their powers or think mutants are beneath them because they are "freaks of nature". Some mutants see themselves as the next evolutionary step for humanity and wish to take their place above humans. With so much chaos between the mutants and humans, one man dedicates his life to promote coexistence of the two. His name is Professor Charles Xavier.
Born with the ability to read other people's minds, Charles Xavier witnessed the discrimination and hate but he chose to fight for peace rather than be part of the problem. To promote coexistence, he built and opened a school for mutants, "The Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters". Xavier uses this school as a safe haven for mutants and provides them an opportunity to learn on how to be a responsible mutant. He teaches them how to control their mutants abilities, how to use their powers responsibly, and, above all else, he teaches them to accept who and what they are. His students are...the X-Men. With the guidance of the professor, the X-Men dedicate themselves to use their powers for good, promote coexistence, and protect the ones who hate them.
